About Collar Rot

Collar Rot attacks the trunk at ground level, girdling the tree and causing rapid decline in poorly drained soils.

How to spot it

Dark water-soaked lesion at soil line. Soft spongy bark. Sudden wilting.

Prevention

Plant on raised beds. Avoid deep planting. Keep mulch away from trunk.

Organic treatment

Expose crown. Apply Trichoderma harzianum. Paint trunk with Bordeaux paste.
