About Early Italian
Early-maturing European prune variety. Similar to Italian Prune but ripens 10-15 days earlier. Large, oblong, egg-shaped, dark purple skin with powdery bloom. Flesh greenish-amber, juicy, freestone. Very sweet, ideal for drying and canning. Tree self-fertile, winter hardy. Matures approximately August 18 in New York conditions. 800-1000 chill hours. Zones 4-7.
