Crown Gall causes rough woody galls at the crown and on roots, interfering with nutrient and water flow.

How to spot it

Rough spherical galls at soil line or on roots. Reduced vigour and yellowing.

Prevention

Use disease-free planting material. Avoid wounding roots. Rotate before replanting.

Organic treatment

Excise galls and paint with copper. Apply Agrobacterium radiobacter strain K84.
